MLSA Executive Committee Chairperson Kevin O’Boyle has written to members explaining the Executive Committee’s pay strategy and the pay claim submitted by the MLSA last week to the HSE, Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and the Department of Health. The letter can be viewed in the Member Updates section of the Members’ Area of the website.
The MLSA AGM will be held in the Ashling Hotel Dublin on Saturday 4th April 2020 at 11am. Executive Committee nomination forms and AGM motions forms are now available in the MLSA AGM 2020 section of the Members’ Area of the website. The closing date for return of forms to MLSA Head Office is Friday 6th March.
Applications are invited for the Cyril Keogh Academic Bursary awards for 2020. Application forms with the bursary rules are available in the Cyril Keogh Bursary section of the Members’ Area of the website. The closing date for receipt of applications to MLSA Head Office is Friday 6th March.
The HSE has issued an Adverse Weather (Red Weather Events) Policy. The policy should be read in conjuntion with the HSE Severe Weather Planning Guidance for HSE Services, which should be in use in all laboratories to plan in advance for severe weather events.
The Medical Scientists' Registration Board has published two documents on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements for medical scientists. The documents and a link to a consultation survey can be accessed here and the closing date for feedback is 18th August 2019.
