The MLSA attended a meeting between the Public Services Committee (PSC) of ICTU and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform yesterday 25th September, with regard to proposals to address the new entrant pay anomaly as provided for under the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020.

The intention of the proposal is to ensure that public servants will no longer be at a disadvantage based the fact that they were recruited after 1stJanuary 2011, when the then Government imposed a 10% pay cut on new entrant salary scales. STATEMENT BY THE MLSA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON THE PROPOSALS FOR A PUBLIC SERVICE STABILITY AGREEMENT 2018 – 2020

The Executive Committee of the MLSA met on the 15th June and again on the 20th July 2017 to consider the proposals for the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020 (PSSA).

MLSA Members vote in favour of the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020

MLSA members have voted by a large majority to accept the proposals in the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020 with a majority of 86% voting in favour of the proposals and 14% against, on a 53% turnout.

The Agreement, which is an extension of the Lansdowne Road Agreement, provides for pay restoration and other improvements for workers in the public service.
