Following industrial action in May 2022 by medical scientists seeking parity with biochemist grades, and the intervention of the Labour Court, the MLSA and HSE agreed to conduct an independent assessment of medical scientist grades compared to biochemists. The assessment was conducted by Conall Devine in summer/autumn 2022 and the Devine Report on Medical Scientist Grades Assessment was published in January 2023.
