STATEMENT BY THE MLSA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON THE PROPOSALS FOR A PUBLIC SERVICE STABILITY AGREEMENT 2018 – 2020
The Executive Committee of the MLSA met on the 15th June and again on the 20th July 2017 to consider the proposals for the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020 (PSSA).
Having considered the matter in full, the Executive Committee has decided to recommend acceptance of the proposed agreement as it believes it is the best option available to deliver pay restoration and ongoing security of employment to Medical Scientists. In the event of acceptance of the PSSA, the MLSA and all other ICTU unions will vigorously pursue full implementation of all elements of the proposal, in particular Clause 4.1.3 to satisfactorily resolve the issue of pay for new entrants.
Balloting of members will commence on Thursday 27th of July and conclude on Friday 1st of September 2017. Counting of votes will take place on Monday 4th of September.
