The MLSA Executive Committee wishes to announce that the rescheduled MLSA 2020 AGM will take place on Saturday 17th October at 11am. Due to the latest public health measures announced on Tuesday, it is currently planned to conduct the meeting in an entirely online format. All members will be able to attend virtually but registration in advance will be necessary. Online attendees will be able to speak at the meeting and to participate in voting. We regret that we cannot have all members in physical attendance at the AGM and that we must currently plan for an entirely virtual AGM this year.
If the public health restrictions are reviewed before the meeting date it may be possible to arrange a hybrid meeting with limited numbers in physical attendance but if this happens the Executive Committee will prioritise the attendance of the proposers of motions and MLSA agents representing their laboratories. We ask all members to bear with us as we endeavour to organise the best replacement for the normal AGM format that complies with public health requirements.
The registration details for the online meeting will follow in the next few weeks but for now please keep the date free so that we can have a productive AGM at this critical time for the profession, despite the restrictions. The motions for the AGM are available in the Members’ Area of the MLSA website.
