MLSA Members vote in favour of the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020
MLSA members have voted by a large majority to accept the proposals in the Public Service Stability Agreement 2018-2020 with a majority of 86% voting in favour of the proposals and 14% against, on a 53% turnout.
The Agreement, which is an extension of the Lansdowne Road Agreement, provides for pay restoration and other improvements for workers in the public service.
A key issue for the MLSA will be to ensure that the ‘new entrants’ pay inequity, whereby Medical Scientist who joined the service after 2011 take two years longer to reach the top of their scale, is addressed as soon as is practicable.
The Public Services Committee of ICTU will convene on Monday 18th of September to confirm the aggregate vote of all the Public Service Unions affiliated to Congress and thereby determine whether or not an agreement with Government is endorsed.
